Joyful Learning: A Loose Parts Series

Please Join Us for a workshop series about constructivist education and loose parts interspersed with hands-on learning experiences. No more than 30 participants will be enrolled!

Session Content:

Session 1 - Constructivist Theory, Brain Development & Loose Parts Play

Participants will gain an understanding of constructivist theory through hands on experiences

and reflection, working with loose parts and connecting the learning with brain development and

pedagogy.

Session 2 - Loose Parts and Classroom Environments

In this second session we will reflect on how our teaching practices have changed and what

questions/challenges we have. We will focus on the nuts and bolts of organizing the classroom

environment with loose parts as an integral part of the curriculum. We will also share resources

and strategies for collecting loose parts.

Session 3 - Observation and Assessment with Loose Parts

In this session we will dive more deeply into observing, the art of asking questions, and

strategies for making learning visible to our students and to ourselves. We will explore how we

connect curriculum expectations with the learning we see in child directed activities.

REQUIREMENTS: Proof of Covid Vaccination, Mask Required, and Health Screening
